THE PROMISE: A Christmas Pageant in verse with Traditional Carols
St. Peter's Gift Tree
Each December, St. Matthew's Maryland Community Ministry opens a Christmas store. This allows the parents in families they serve to choose Christmas gifts for their children. Children can also choose gifts for parents. St. Peter's participated in this event through our Gift Tree. For four weeks leading up to the store opening, members of the parish brought new toys and other gifts, as well as warm mitts, hats and scarves. These were taken to St. Matthew's Maryland in time for their store opening on December 16th.
Every couple of years St. Peter's community comes together to put on a large garage sale in the parish hall. It takes many hands to make this project a success. Anything in good condition that is not sold is passed on to other community organizations that benefit from selling used items.
Catechesis training in South Dakota
Betty, Caroline, and Donna all headed to South Dakota to attend the second half of Level 3 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Training.
Marriage Blessing
Congratulations to Lynne Martin and Armin Wiebe on their marriage in the summer of 2015. The marriage was blessed at St. Peter's on July 26.
After three years as a bursary student in St. Peter's choir, Paul Winkelmans left us this spring to continue his studies in Montreal. Paul's many gifts and warm personality were appreciated by his parish family here in Winnipeg.
Emerging Artists Exhibition and Sale 2015
San Pancho/San Francisco Baby Clothing Project
Each year, in January or February, Rod and Susan Sprange (or friends) take a large suitcase of baby clothing and blankets, either hand-made or purchased by St. Peter's parishioners to the San Pancho/San Francisco hospital in Mexico. Service of Lessons and Carols
Each year on the Last Sunday of Advent
This annual December event is a popular one with neighbours and friends of St. Peter's. Come early if you want a good selection. Jams, jellies, and home baking is also on sale.
