Parish Administrative Assistant

The Anglican Parish of St. Peter, Winnipeg is seeking an Administrative Assistant to serve our Parish. The position currently requires a 20 hour per week commitment year-round with the timing of the daily hours being flexible. Compensation is hourly based and is reviewed annually. Three weeks paid vacation is provided. The position reports directly to the Rector.

Overall responsibilities encompass the day-to-day delivery and coordination of the administrative aspects of the church operations. Major duties include weekly service bulletin preparation, basic financial tasks related to purchasing and payments, web site maintenance/administration, managing building rentals and liaising with renters, coordinating parish communications via email, mail and the electronic sign, and support to the Rector and various parish ministries. Support and direction to the Administrative Assistant is provided by the Rector, Wardens, Vestry and ministry leaders.

The successful candidate will possess strong, well developed interpersonal skills, working knowledge of computers (email, Word, Excel and Power Point), and experience in working in a not for profit/religious organization. Being able to operate effectively in a collaborative setting is essential.
