Grow Hope Project
“Growing local to feed global.”
Help St. Peter’s support the Diocesan Grow Hope project. Chris and Leianne Lea, our partner farmers in Pembina Crossing, are seeding 15 acres of canola. Urban parishes raise money to offset the input costs (seed, fertilizer, etc.), and in the fall, the harvested grain is sold at the elevator. All proceeds go into the PWRDF account at Canadian Food Grains Bank. PWRDF will use the money to fund famine relief and sustainable agriculture projects in developing countries such as Uganda and Kenya. The Government of Canada multiplies the monies by 3.
How can you help fill the grain elevator with “bushels of hope”?
- You can contribute right here on the website by clicking on the Donate Now button. Donations are processed and receipted by CanadaHelps. Be sure to put “Grow Hope” in the message box.
- You can also donate by sending or dropping off a cheque at the church made out to St. Peter’s Anglican Church. Please put Grow Hope on the memo line.
Last year we filled that elevator with more than $1,500 in bushels of hope. Can we match that in 2021 by June? Thank you in advance for your support!
